Route 9 Games is an independent tabletop roleplaying game publisher based in Illinois.
We make games about ordinary people in places that don't quite work right. Atmospheric horror, deadpan comedy, and the working-class weird. We are interested in small towns, night shifts, mundane work, and the specific quality of attention that the world directs at people who have been somewhere too long.
Our games are designed to be run with minimal preparation, to play cleanly across three to four sessions, and to leave the table feeling like something has happened.
Wells Marston is the founder of Route 9 Games and the designer of Odd Hours. He lives in Illinois.
His writing is interested in the texture of working-class life, the surrealism of long shifts, and the specific way American small towns negotiate with the strange. Odd Hours is his first published game.
A substantially expanded second edition with new backgrounds, an expanded bestiary, and the full town of Corrow developed in detail. Crowdfunding later this year.
Route 9 Games plans to release one to two games per year, with smaller supplements between major releases. Sign up for the newsletter to be the first to hear about future projects.
